Asa Asika has sparked conversations online after complaining about how quickly his mobile data gets exhausted despite spending most of his time in places with WiFi.
In a post shared on X, he revealed that although he had barely spent up to two weeks in Lagos within the past month and mostly stayed at home or the office, he had still bought 10GB data multiple times.
He also complained about calls disconnecting immediately after stepping outside because his data would suddenly finish.
His post triggered reactions from Nigerians, with some saying public figures should have spoken up earlier when many Nigerians were already complaining about telecom providers and rising data costs.
Another user also lamented that the amount spent on data within a few months could almost be enough to buy land in a small city.
