
A hit-and-run driver has k!lled two policemen along the Osogbo/Gbongan road in Oogi community, Osun State.
The spokesperson for the police in the state, Abiodun Ojelabi, who disclosed this on Thursday May 28, 2026, said the command has launched a manhunt for the driver involved in the accident.
According to Ojelabi, the operatives, identified simply as Kehinde and Tobi Adedina were travelling on a motorcycle when they were hit by a Lexus car on Wednesday in Oogi town.
He said the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle.
“The two police operatives were travelling on a motorcycle when they got hit. One Lexus car hit them. Kehinde and Tobi are the two operatives involved,” the PPRO said.
Ojelabi disclosed that the police had recovered the Lexus car and the motorcycle involved in the crash and taken both vehicles into custody.
“We have launched probe into the accident, and we are tracking the driver of the car. The vehicle and motorcycle involved have been recovered and taken to station.”
The police spokesperson further disclosed that one of the deceased operatives had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
“We have commenced an investigation into the accident,” he added.
