Honourable Leke Abejide, a federal parliamentarian representing Kogi State, has claimed that one of the suspects responsible for the attempted kidnapping of students in the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area did something terrified after understanding he had been recognized.
Channels Television interviewed Abejide, who stated this. One of them committed suicide before being apprehended after realizing his identity had been compromised, while others were arrested after, being recognized. The security agents are really operating in Kogi State. He remarked that their numbers were simply not enough.
Abejide demanded increased funding for local hunter units, claiming that they had demonstrated extraordinary efficacy in directly combating bandits.
He mentioned that certain hunters had extremely strong indigenous charms that, according to him, were comparable to standard ammunition in the field.
Thus, he contended, elected officials like him must intervene to organize and support these local forces in order to bridge the gap that overstretched security forces are unable to fill alone.
