Olumuyiwa Ayodeji has stated that while studying at Ekiti State University in 2010, he joined a group of political thugs and was taken to a creek in Warri, Delta State, to receive “bulletproof charms”
In an interview with Nevon HQ, Ayodeji said 20 people went to the creek with him to receive the charms but 8 people got scared and ran away before they could receive it
Ayodeji said while he was leaving the creek after collecting the charm, the elderly man who gave it to him suddenly shot him. He said he immediately asked why the man shot him and the man said it was to test if the charm was working
In Ayodeji’s words: “I said, ‘Baba, I am ready. Do it’. So when the man did it he said, ‘You this small boy, you have mind’. So immediately while we were coming out from the place I just heard sound and something peppering me like heavy downpour of rain. I now shouted, ‘Baba why did you shoot us?’. He said he had to test what he had done”
