The politician threatened a ten billion Naira lawsuit if the cleric fails to comply within twenty four hours, citing grave damage to his political reputation.
According to report on the official X handle of Rabiu Kwankwaso on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, he revealed the legal notice sent by his lawyers, Magaji Mato Ibrahim SAN and Company, to the religious leader. The document addresses a viral video containing malicious assertions meant to portray him as completely deceitful.
During the recorded congregation service, the cleric explicitly stated that Kwankwaso is a fake to Obi and will definitely betray him. Furthermore, the publication alleged that the politician was paid to be the running mate under the Nigerian Democratic Congress, comments the legal team described as grossly unfounded and malicious.
The lawyers gave a clear warning that failure to publish the retraction on all social media platforms would lead to litigation. They stated they have instructions to claim substantial damages to the tune of ten billion Naira, adding a final note that a stitch in time saves nine for him.
