Manchester United could receive a boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni after reports suggested Chelsea’s interest in Enzo Fernández may increase the likelihood of the French international leaving the Spanish club this summer.
According to Football365, United remain in the market for a central midfielder despite completing the signing of Ederson Silva from Atalanta. Manager Michael Carrick is reportedly keen to strengthen his squad further ahead of the new season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has previously described Tchouaméni as United’s dream midfield target, although Real Madrid’s high valuation of the France international, along with his salary and importance to the squad, has made a deal difficult.
However, reports from Spain claim Real Madrid could consider selling Tchouaméni if they need to raise funds for a potential €140 million move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández.
United’s transfer plans have also been complicated by a knee injury to Manuel Ugarte, who is expected to face an extended spell on the sidelines. Reports suggest the club had been open to selling or loaning the midfielder this summer to generate funds before his injury.
