Dada Olusegun, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Social Media, has criticised former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi over viral photos showing him inspecting a road with potholes and standing water.
The exchange followed Obi’s comments urging the government to prioritise repairing existing roads over embarking on new road projects. “Instead of undertaking new ventures and dualization projects that offer marginal benefits, our primary focus ought to be on repairing the critical roads already in place,” Obi said.
Responding in a post on his X account on Monday, Olusegun alleged that the road featured in Obi’s post was already undergoing reconstruction and accused the former governor of presenting a misleading impression.
“I don’t know what to call this if it’s not mischievousness. I am sure Mr. Obi knows that this same road is currently under reconstruction, but his daily need to romance his gullible audience pushed him to this wall of deceit,” Olusegun wrote.
The exchange reflects the continuing public disagreement between supporters of the Tinubu administration and Obi over infrastructure development and government performance.
