The family of Abdullahi Bello, who was reportedly killed near the Rantiya community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, has called for a thorough investigation into his death.
According to his elder sister, Hannatu Bello, Abdullahi left home on Sunday but was later found unconscious after an alleged attack by unidentified assailants. She said the family was notified by a police officer and rushed to a hospital in Dadin Kowa, where they found him unconscious.
“From what we saw on his body, he was macheted and strangled, with blood coming from his mouth,” Hannatu said.
She added that although her brother’s appearance led some people to assume he was Fulani, he was not a member of the Fulani ethnic group.
The family urged the Plateau State Police Command to investigate the killing, examine Abdullahi’s mobile phone and phone records, and identify those responsible. Hannatu also appealed to the Plateau State Government to ensure justice is served.
Meanwhile, Berom Youth Moulders Association Publicity Secretary Rwang Tengwong said he was unaware of the incident and would make inquiries. As of the time of the report, Plateau State Police spokesperson SP Alabo Alfred had not responded to requests for comment.
