Kaduna: Gov. Sani Refuses to Discuss Personal Issues With El-Rufai While in Detention

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has declined to comment on any personal issues involving his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, saying his administration is focused on governance rather than political disputes.

Speaking during an interview aired on Arise News on June 30, Sani said he would not discuss personal matters or publicly criticise any former governor of Kaduna State.

“I am not going to comment on personal issues here because, for anybody who knows me, I have never discussed personal issues, and in any case, when I became governor, I made it clear to everyone that one thing I will not do is talk against any previous governor of Kaduna State,” Sani said.

The governor said his approach to leadership is based on continuity and respect for past administrations, arguing that every former governor contributed to the state’s development. He added that his government is focused on improving security and advancing development rather than engaging in political disagreements.

Sani also urged the media to give greater attention to governance and economic progress instead of highlighting political tensions, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive leadership and institutional stability.
