The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched an investigation into a viral photograph allegedly showing a blindfolded Palestinian man bound to a military folding bed, while stressing that the image has not been verified.
According to The Times of Israel, the photograph circulated online through accounts described as anti-Israel, prompting the military to review its origin.
The IDF said, “After a comprehensive review was conducted, the source of the footage has still not been identified. The review is ongoing.”
Responding to inquiries, the military added that, “The footage, if authentic, does not align with the IDF’s values and orders. If it is found to be authentic, the matter will be handled accordingly.”
The army said it has not confirmed the authenticity of the image or whether it was taken by IDF personnel.
A military source also rejected claims linking the photograph to operations involving the Kfir Brigade’s Netzah Yehuda Battalion in northern Gaza, saying the image was not taken during those operations. The IDF has not disclosed where or when the photograph was taken, and no soldiers have been identified in connection with the investigation.
