DSS arraigns five over alleged coup plot

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned five Nigerians before the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations that they concealed the whereabouts of former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva (pictured above), who has been accused of masterminding an alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu.
 
The defendants—Reuben Ayuba, Musa Mohammed, Friday Paul, Paganengigha Anagaha, and Ayebaifife Suobite—were charged with conspiracy and allegedly concealing the whereabouts of a fugitive. 

They all pleaded not guilty. 

Justice Peter Lifu granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦5 million with two sureties in like sum but ordered their remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions.
 
The case was adjourned until July 22, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
