Manchester United F.C. have reportedly set an August 8 deadline to complete Marcus Rashford’s permanent transfer before the club begins its pre-season training camp.
According to the London Evening Standard, Rashford is expected to return to Old Trafford after FC Barcelona declined to activate the £26 million option to make his loan move permanent, instead signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United F.C. for £70 million.
The England international is reportedly not part of manager Michael Carrick’s plans and is seeking a move to a club competing in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Chelsea F.C. and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. have been linked with the 28-year-old, while United are said to be considering Crysencio Summerville as a replacement.
Meanwhile, United are close to signing Ederson from Atalanta BC in a deal worth £35 million plus £3.8 million in add-ons. The Brazilian midfielder is expected to undergo a medical before signing a four-year contract.
The club is also nearing the signing of Andrey Santos after reportedly agreeing a deal worth up to £50 million with Chelsea F.C.. The midfielder is also expected to complete a medical before finalising his move to Old Trafford.
