The Bible is one of the most important and widely read books in the world. Many people believe it was inspired by God, but some verses can be difficult to understand or even shocking to modern readers.
Here are two examples that left me confused:
In Exodus 25, there are verses that appear to describe very harsh punishments, including putting a woman to death for touching a man’s private parts without permission. This is hard to understand in today’s world.
Another difficult passage is in 1 Chronicles 21:14-15, which talks about a plague sent by God that causes severe suffering, including people’s bowels coming out due to disease. These descriptions are graphic and disturbing.
I have been thinking about these verses a lot lately. They raise many questions about context, interpretation, and how we should understand the Bible today.
What do you think about such passages? Should we question them or accept them as they are? Do they affect your faith or decision to go to church?
