Oyo: For the Armed Forces to Penetrate, Locate Their Families and Pick Them Up, That’s a High C-Plus — Retired General John Enenche

Retired Major General John Enenche has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for the intelligence-led operation that secured the rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Esiele, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television on July 13, 2026, Enenche said the success of the operation reflected the growing capability of Nigeria’s security architecture to outsmart criminal groups through intelligence gathering and coordinated action.

“For the armed forces, collective security team to be able to penetrate and counter their communication and locate where their families are to pick them up. That’s a High C-Plus,” he said.

Enenche noted that infiltrating the communication networks of criminal groups is one of the most challenging aspects of modern security operations. He said the ability to identify the kidnappers’ network and location without endangering the victims demonstrated effective intelligence gathering and strong collaboration among the military and other security agencies.

He added that the operation deserved commendation for its successful coordination and the safe recovery of the victims.
