President Kept the Winning Ticket, and Christians Are Comfortable With the Muslim-Muslim Ticket—Aliyu

APC chieftain Farouk Aliyu says many Nigerian Christians are now more accepting of the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket than they were before the 2023 election. Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, he defended President Bola Tinubu’s decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his 2027 running mate.

Aliyu said the APC saw no reason to change a ticket that secured victory in 2023, adding, “Our leader, the President, decided in his wisdom not to change the winning ticket. And the Christians in this country… are now much, much more comfortable.” He maintained the administration has not discriminated against any religious group, arguing earlier fears of marginalisation have proved unfounded.
