Oriire Kidnap: The Bandits Gave Me One Drug, I Swallowed It and My Knee Arthritis Pain Went Away — Victim

Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, one of the teachers abducted during the attack on a school in Oriire, Oyo State, has recounted how kidnappers gave him medication that he said temporarily relieved his long-standing knee arthritis.

Speaking in an interview with Nigeria Info FM, Zacchaeus said he was unable to escape when the gunmen attacked because of severe arthritis in his knee. He explained that although he hid in a bush, the kidnappers eventually found and captured him.

According to Zacchaeus, he complained of the pain while the captives were being marched into the forest. He said the kidnappers gave him a drug, which he took, and the pain subsided.

“When we were going there, it was miraculous. The leg that I have tried many hospitals for, that I have bought many medicines and used, when I got there and complained to them, they just gave me one drug. When I took the drug, the arthritis went away,” Zacchaeus said.

His account reflects his personal experience during captivity and has not been independently verified.
