Isaac Fayose has reaffirmed his support for the presidential ambition of Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate Peter Obi following the former Anambra State governor’s visit to his home.
According to Punch on July 18, 2026, Fayose shared a video of the visit on Instagram, describing Obi as Nigeria’s “incoming president.” He said the visit reaffirmed his commitment to the Obidient Movement amid criticism from some social media users.
“It’s not every day the President comes to your house. Our incoming president. So shall it be, in Jesus’ name. For you others abusing me, you can see now, I am 100 per cent Obidient. So you better be Obidient. We are together, and we are winning,” Fayose said.
The visit came days after Fayose complained that Obi had not acknowledged the support he gave during the 2023 presidential campaign, including allowing members of the Obidient Movement to use his hotel.
During the meeting, Obi commended Fayose for speaking his mind, saying constructive criticism is essential to leadership. He added that genuine leaders should listen, accept correction when necessary and continue learning. Obi also suggested that some of Fayose’s online critics were not genuine supporters of the Obidient Movement but were seeking to create division.
