Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communications, has criticized former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, questioning his conduct over several past incidents.
Speaking during an interview aired on TVC News on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Bwala alleged that Obi breached airport traffic regulations in Lagos and later claimed his life was threatened after his vehicle was clamped. He also referenced remarks Obi allegedly made during a recent trip to Europe.
“He broke airport traffic rules. His car was clamped, and he said his life was threatened. He went to Europe just a few days ago and said the Governor of Benue State wanted to kill him. Is this honourable?” Bwala said.
The presidential aide argued that public officials and political leaders should exercise restraint in their public statements and be accountable for their actions.
Bwala also defended the Tinubu administration, saying it remains focused on improving security and strengthening the economy despite criticism from opposition figures. He expressed confidence that the government’s performance, rather than political accusations, would be the key issue for voters ahead of the 2027 general election.
