US Plans to Step Up Attacks on Iran, Informs Israel to Stay Out of Current Phase – Report

The United States has reportedly informed Israel of plans to intensify military operations against Iran while urging its ally to remain out of the current phase of the conflict to avoid a broader regional war.

According to an Anadolu Agency report published on Monday, July 20, 2026, Israeli public broadcaster KAN, citing unnamed Israeli and U.S. security officials, said Washington had briefed Israeli authorities on its strategy amid escalating tensions.

The report said U.S. officials believe limiting Israel’s direct involvement could reduce the risk of a wider conflict, despite concerns that Iran may retaliate by targeting Israeli territory. It also stated that the U.S. has increased military support to the region, including additional equipment and munitions for Israel and the deployment of more than 10 aerial refuelling aircraft from Europe and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Israeli outlet Walla further reported that the U.S. is preparing to deploy up to 100 aerial refuelling aircraft to Israeli military facilities and Ramon Airport to support any expanded air campaign against Iran.

The reports, based on unnamed sources, have not been officially confirmed. They come as renewed hostilities between Washington and Tehran raise uncertainty over the future of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding signed in June.
