StarTimes Nigeria concluded its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a final watch party at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the tournament and a subscriber won the ₦10 million grand prize in the company’s nationwide “Watch and Win” promotion.
Held at King Jaja Hall, the event attracted more than 1,000 football fans. Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute, while Argentina finished the match with 10 men following Enzo Fernández’s dismissal.
During halftime, Blessing Ubokudom Obot from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, emerged as the winner of the ₦10 million cash prize. The draw also produced winners of seven StarTimes H30 Solar Home Systems and 14 StarTimes S130B Solar + TV bundles, completing a rewards campaign worth over ₦50 million.
StarTimes Marketing Director Oke Umurhohwo said the promotion was designed to reward customer loyalty while making World Cup coverage more accessible.
The event also featured entertainment, games and a ₦50,000 Predict and Win competition organized with Meridianbet. Sponsored by Meridianbet and held in partnership with Sterling Bank, the watch party concluded StarTimes’ six-week World Cup campaign, during which all 104 matches were broadcast live on its television channels and the StarTimes ON app.
