Borno South Youth Alliance President Samaila Kaigama has alleged that the abductors involved in the Ngoshe mass kidnapping instructed negotiators to channel ransom payments through Senator Ali Ndume, whom they described as their “in-house mediator.”
Speaking during an interview aired on Channels Television on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Kaigama discussed the negotiations that led to the release of about 460 abducted women and children in Ngoshe, Borno State.
According to Kaigama, the kidnappers gave detailed instructions on how negotiations and any ransom payments should be handled, including naming the person they wanted negotiators to contact.
“They told us to communicate with him that it’s only through him that monies will be paid because he is their in-house mediator,” Kaigama said, alleging that the statement referred to Senator Ndume.
Kaigama made the claim while recounting the negotiation process surrounding the abduction. During the interview, he did not provide evidence to substantiate the allegation that the kidnappers specifically identified the senator as their preferred intermediary.
