Security expert Dr. Yahuza Getso has alleged that bandit leader Mohammed Kachalla, whom he identified as the man responsible for abducting General Rabe Abubakar, publicly displayed sophisticated weapons and threatened the Nigerian state shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly sent a letter to President Bola Tinubu praising his administration’s counterterrorism efforts.
Speaking during an interview with Trust TV, Getso claimed the incident occurred within 24 hours of the reported letter from Trump.
“Between the time when President Donald Trump submitted that letter and 24 hours later, Mohammed Kachalla, the person who abducted General Rabe Abubakar, presented himself with a lot of heavy sophisticated arms and ammunition, threatening the Nigerian State,” Getso said.
He further alleged that Kachalla is not hiding in an unknown location but is living in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Getso’s remarks were made during the interview and have not been independently verified. He cited the incident as evidence that insecurity remains a significant challenge despite positive international assessments of Nigeria’s security efforts.
