If an LG Chairman Can Be Abducted and Security Attached to Him Killed, Who Is Safe? — Shinkafi

Abdullahi Shinkafi, former Chairman of the Zamfara State Committee on the Prosecution of Bandits, has expressed concern over the reported abduction of the Chairman of Bungudu Local Government Area, describing the incident as a troubling reflection of the country’s security challenges.

Speaking in a video shared by News Central TV, Shinkafi said the reported kidnapping of the local government chairman, alongside the killing of security personnel attached to him, has heightened fears about the safety of both public officials and ordinary citizens.

He noted that elected officials are typically accompanied by security operatives, making the incident particularly alarming and raising questions about the level of protection available in affected communities.

“If a local government chairman can be abducted and security personnel attached to him have been killed, then who is safe? This raises a lot of concerns and questions without an answer from the authorities,” Shinkafi said.

He called attention to the growing anxiety surrounding insecurity and urged authorities to strengthen measures to protect lives and address the concerns raised by the incident.
