Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has made fresh claims about the July 2021 raid on his Ibadan residence by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to a Vanguard report published on July 28, 2026, Igboho dismissed longstanding rumours that he transformed into a cat to escape during the operation. He alleged that DSS operatives mistakenly killed a cat after believing it was him.
Igboho also claimed that the operatives brought a self-acclaimed herbalist to his residence, alleging that the individual performed rituals and chanted incantations while searching for him.
“I didn’t turn into a cat. They even killed it, thinking it was me. I was in the house watching them, but they didn’t see me,” Igboho said.
He maintained that he remained hidden inside the house throughout the operation and watched the events unfold without being discovered. The DSS has not publicly responded to his latest claims.
