The General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening security and economic challenges, urging the government to take decisive action to address the situation.
According to a Daily Post report published on Monday, August 3, 2026, Oyedepo criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying millions of Nigerians continue to face hardship while insecurity persists across the country.
“The president needs to act now and stop pretending. You can’t slaughter members of my family and expect me to pray for you. I will pray against you and your household,” the cleric said.
Oyedepo cited recurring attacks and killings in different parts of Nigeria, saying the continued loss of lives has heightened fear and frustration among citizens who expect the government to protect them.
He warned that public patience is wearing thin and urged authorities to respond with greater urgency before the security situation deteriorates further. The bishop also condemned those responsible for violent attacks, insisting they should be held accountable under the law rather than expect sympathy from victims and their families.
He further questioned what he described as the government’s slow response, calling for clear and effective measures to end the violence and restore public confidence.
