Apostle John Okoriko, Founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, has urged Nigerians to hold political leaders accountable by refusing to re-elect those who fail to fulfil their campaign promises ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to Daily Post on Sunday, July 5, 2026, Okoriko made the remarks during his July interactive session themed, “Let God Be True and Every Man a Liar.” He said political office holders should publicly apologise to Nigerians for failing to deliver on promises made during election campaigns.
The cleric expressed concern over what he described as the growing prevalence of dishonesty in politics, business, healthcare, religion and other sectors, adding that only a life guided by the teachings of Christ can overcome deception.
Okoriko noted that politicians often promise to revive the economy, create jobs, improve electricity supply, build roads, reduce energy costs and ease hardship but frequently fail to fulfil those commitments after taking office.
Without naming any individual, he urged voters to make informed choices and prioritise accountability. “I believe if someone deceives you once, don’t give that person the opportunity to deceive you twice. Circumstances and human nature are built on lies and lies cannot stand the test of time,” he said.
