Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias have k!lled a couple and a woman in Tukur village in Mangu Halle, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Tubwot Joël Sunday, Director Of Public Affairs, Mwaghavul Youth Movement, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the victims, Mr. Titus Brigade (55 years), Mrs. Rahab Titus (45 years), and Mrs. Laitu Pius (43 years), were laid to rest on Monday, June 1, 2026.
“We equally pray for the speedy recovery of Miss Favour Pius (12 years), who survived the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment at a medical facility,” the statement read.
“This inhuman act comes amidst reports of another d3adly attack in Foron of Barkin-Ladi LGA, where six innocent brothers of ours were reportedly gunned down by same Fulani terrorists.
“This continuous targeting of innocent civilians has become a grave threat to peace, security, and coexistence on the Plateau.
“The Mwaghavul Youth Movement is particularly disturbed by the dangerous pattern that often precedes such attacks. In recent weeks, social media platforms have been awash with inflammatory and unsubstantiated narratives by #Gafdan Media Team, Plateau State, one Abu Haneefah amongst other media agents of the terrorist elements, aimed at demonizing the Berom and Mwaghavul people.
“Such campaigns of misinformation are reckless, irresponsible, and capable of creating an atmosphere that emboldens violence against innocent communities.
“The Mwaghavul Youth Movement wishes to state unequivocally that no grievance, real or imagined, can justify the murder of innocent men, women, and children, nor will it compel its members to surrender to terror.
“This deliberate taking of human lives is criminal and must be condemned by all people of good conscience.
“We therefore call on the government and security agencies to unlike before, immediately investigate these attacks, apprehend the perpetrators and ensure that justice is served accordingly.
“We are tired of these recurring cycle of attacks and k!llings without visible consequences for those responsible.
“We also urge all citizens to reject divisive propaganda, hate speech, and attempts to criminalize entire ethnic communities as it’s been done by known terrorists. Peace can only thrive where truth, justice, and mutual respect exist.
“The Mwaghavul Youth Movement stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and all communities affected by these senseless acts of violence. We pray that God grants eternal rest to the departed and comfort to those they have left behind.”
