A Nigerian nurse has shared a video showing the skin reaction she says one of her colleagues experienced after taking lenacapavir, an HIV prevention injection.
The nurse, however, stressed that the reaction does not mean everyone who takes the injection will experience similar side effects, revealing that she and her roommate had also taken it without experiencing any adverse reactions.
According to her, some medications can cause side effects or uncommon adverse reactions in certain people, which is why anyone taking the injection should be monitored by a healthcare professional.
She advised people who experience any unusual signs or reactions after taking the injection to report them to the healthcare provider or facility where they received it.
