Oyo abduction: Unlike Goodluck Jonathan, my boss has taken full responsibility for the incident and has never denied it happened - Prsidential media aide, Dada Olusegun

Presidential aide Dada Olusegun has countered claims that President Bola Tinubu is dodging responsibility for the abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State or shifting blame to Governor Seyi Makinde. He stated that, ‘unlike’ former President Goodluck Jonathan, the current administration has taken full responsibility for the crisis.

An X user resurfaced an old tweet by Tinubu from the Goodluck Jonathan era, in which Tinubu stated that the responsibility of governance and national security ultimately stops at the president’s table. Citing the Chibok school kidnappings under Jonathan’s tenure, the user accused the current administration of holding Governor Makinde accountable for the Oyo abduction to gaslight the state.

Responding to the X-user, Dada claimed that ‘unlike’ former president Jonathan, President Tinubu never denied that the abduction happened.
