BREAKING: Again, Dangote Refinery Slashes Fuel Price

Dangote Refinery has announced another reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lowering the rate from N1,175 to N1,125 per litre.

According to a Daily Post report published on June 25, 2026, the refinery’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, said the company reduced its gantry loading price by N50 per litre. The refinery also cut its coastal supply price from N1,495,215 per metric tonne to N1,428,165 per metric tonne.

The latest adjustment follows a decline in global crude oil prices, with benchmark crude currently trading between $69 and $73 per barrel after easing from levels driven higher by Middle East geopolitical tensions.

This is the second petrol price reduction announced by the refinery within two weeks. On June 16, Dangote Refinery lowered its ex-depot price by N75 per litre, a move that contributed to reduced pump prices in several parts of the country.

With the latest review, the refinery has cut its petrol price by a total of N125 per litre over the past fortnight.

Despite the reductions, petrol continues to sell at filling stations in Abuja and nearby areas for between N1,241 and N1,305 per litre. Consumers and motorists have urged fuel marketers to reflect the lower ex-depot costs in retail prices, expressing hope that pump prices could eventually return to the N800–N900 per litre range seen before recent global oil market disruptions.
