Woman charged after she fled traffic stop and crashed, k!lling her three young children

A North Carolina woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she fled a traffic stop, reached speeds of 111 mph and crashed, k!lling her three young sons.

 

Megan Symone Scott, 31, was charged with three counts of involuntary manslaughter and numerous other offenses stemming from the June 3 crash in Fayetteville, according to court documents.

 

Investigators allege Scott sped away from officers after they attempted to stop her in connection with an earlier domestic disturbance.

 

According to an arrest affidavit, data recovered from Scott’s Kia Forte showed the vehicle reached 111 mph before crossing the center line, overcorrecting and crashing into a tree along Highway 53.

 

Authorities said Scott and two of her sons were ejected from the vehicle.

 

Two children d!ed at the scene, while a third later d!ed at a hospital.

 

Court documents allege Scott was driving with a revoked license and that none of the children were properly restrained.

 

Investigators also accuse Scott of assaulting her boyfriend earlier that day by biting him and attempting to run him over after he got out of the vehicle.

 

Police said two officers were struck as Scott fled the attempted traffic stop.

 

Scott was arrested June 15, 2026 and remains jailed after a judge denied bond.

 

In addition to involuntary manslaughter, she faces charges including assault on law enforcement officers, assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run, reckless driving, speeding and multiple child restraint violations.
