Igboho: “Several Times Movements in the Bush Were Sighted by Drones, the Gunmen Disappeared” – Insider

One week after Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, launched a mission to rescue kidnapped victims in Igboho, Oyo State, an insider has disclosed fresh details about the challenges facing the operation.

According to The Nation, Igboho issued a two-hour ultimatum for the release of victims allegedly abducted in nearby Igbope before leading more than 40 men, supported by local hunters and vigilantes, into the Old Oyo National Park. Despite reports of progress, police and local authorities maintained that the victims remained in captivity.

The insider said Igboho had vowed not to leave his hometown until the captives were rescued and entered the forest with his team in the early hours of Tuesday, June 23. The source alleged that kidnappers may be using hidden tunnels to evade search efforts.

“Several times when movements on footpaths in the bush were sighted by surveillance drones, the fleeing men suddenly disappeared and were never found during combing by operatives,” the source said.

The insider added that investigators had uncovered sensitive clues and were pursuing leads on possible escape routes and tunnels, which could help locate both the victims and their abductors.
