Retired Major General John Enenche has called for increased personnel, resources and stronger collaboration to improve Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, warning that terrorist groups are continually adapting their tactics.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Enenche described the insurgents as ruthless and alleged that he had received information suggesting they were now arming surveillance drones.
“These people are so heartless. When you counter their plan or tactics, they change. Now I got information that they are even arming their drones. If they arm their drones that they use to surveil our location, what do we do? We go above them,” he said.
Enenche stressed that security agencies must continually enhance their capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats. He also urged closer cooperation among political leaders, the military and private security companies, arguing that a coordinated approach is essential to strengthening Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts.
