Iran Launches Strikes on Bahrain and Kuwait After US Attacks, Raising Fears Ceasefire Could Collapse

Iran reportedly launched missiles and drones toward Bahrain and Kuwait on Sunday, widening regional tensions just hours after reported U.S. strikes inside Iranian territory, according to France24.

Both Bahrain and Kuwait host U.S. military bases, placing them at the center of the latest escalation. The reported exchange has heightened concerns that a recently announced ceasefire between Iran and the United States could unravel before taking hold.

Reports said Tehran’s strikes were carried out in response to multiple U.S. attacks on locations inside Iran earlier the same day, marking another escalation in a conflict that has increasingly spread beyond the two countries.

The developments have also renewed focus on the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route through which a significant share of the world’s oil and gas passes. Analysts warn that any prolonged disruption could affect global energy markets, international trade, and regional security.

The latest military actions have intensified fears that Gulf states hosting U.S. military facilities could become further drawn into the conflict, complicating diplomatic efforts to preserve the fragile ceasefire.
