All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has dismissed claims that his wealth is a product of his affiliation with the ruling party, saying his success was built through years of hard work and personal sacrifice.
According to a Daily Post report published on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Igbokwe said assumptions linking his financial status to politics ignore the struggles he endured before gaining prominence.
He recalled working as a bus conductor in Lagos and engaging in petty trading and other small businesses to earn a living, describing those experiences as the foundation of his eventual success. He maintained that his progress came gradually through perseverance rather than political patronage or overnight success.
“Some people will see me today and think in their wildest imaginations that I am rich because I belong to APC Nigeria,” Igbokwe wrote on his official Facebook page.
He said people often judge others based on their current circumstances without understanding the hardships they overcame, insisting that his achievements were the result of years of dedication and resilience rather than his political position or party membership.
