Rivers State political stakeholder Chief Ambrose Nwuzi has predicted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara will eventually support the candidate produced by the political coalition aligned with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during a public broadcast, Nwuzi said that despite the widely reported political rift between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike’s political influence in Rivers State remains firmly intact. He described the minister’s political structure as a “rainbow coalition” capable of shaping the state’s electoral outcomes.
According to Nwuzi, Fubara’s political survival depends on maintaining a strategic relationship with Wike’s camp rather than attempting to build an independent political structure. He predicted that the governor would ultimately back the consensus candidate endorsed by the coalition to avoid political isolation.
Nwuzi also argued that the current political tensions in Rivers State represent a temporary power struggle that would eventually give way to a united front led by Wike’s political bloc. He cautioned opposition figures against underestimating the coalition’s influence.
Spokespersons for Governor Fubara had not responded to Nwuzi’s claims at the time of the remarks.
