PSG in talks with Leipzig to buy Ivory Coast’s world cup breakout star Diomande

Paris Saint-Germain have opened negotiations with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig over the signing of Ivory Coast forward Yan Diomande, according to a source familiar with the discussions.

The 19-year-old is understood to have informed Leipzig of his desire to join the French champions this summer, with talks now underway between both clubs. According to the source, Diomande, who is under contract with Leipzig until 2030, has also made it clear to PSG officials that he is “very keen” on completing a move to the reigning UEFA Champions League winners.

The proposed transfer could pave the way for Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos to leave the French capital, with PSG reportedly reaching an agreement with AC Milan for his transfer. The source said the deal for Ramos is valued at around €74 million, although it could rise to €90 million through performance-related bonuses. PSG has not officially commented on the reported agreement.

Born in Abidjan, Diomande briefly featured for Spanish side Leganés in 2025 before joining RB Leipzig, where he enjoyed an impressive debut Bundesliga campaign, scoring 12 goals. The winger is currently with the Ivory Coast national team as they prepare for their FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash against Norway on Tuesday.

If completed, Diomande’s signing would represent PSG’s first major acquisition of the summer transfer window. Ramos, meanwhile, is expected to bring his three-year spell at PSG to an end. Since arriving from Benfica, the Portugal international has won three Ligue 1 titles, two domestic cup trophies and two UEFA Champions League titles.

Despite his success with the club, Ramos struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under head coach Luis Enrique, initially playing behind Kylian Mbappé and later Ousmane Dembélé in the attacking hierarchy. The 24-year-old did not start a single Champions League match for PSG this season, although he remained an effective option from the bench, scoring 45 goals in 131 appearances across all competitions.
