Rivers: People Are Giving Fubara Their Organic Support Because of What He Has Been Doing, Nwuzi Says

Chief Ambrose Nwuzi, Chairman of the Etche Council of Rivers State, says Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s growing popularity is driven by his performance in office rather than political patronage or financial incentives.

Speaking in an interview aired on the official SYMFONI YouTube channel on Monday, June 29, 2026, Nwuzi dismissed claims that the governor’s support base had been built through political rewards.

“People are giving to him their organic support not because of anything, but because of what he is doing,” he said while assessing the governor’s performance across the state’s local government areas.

According to Nwuzi, Fubara has prioritized infrastructure development and the welfare of civil servants over building political structures. He cited improvements in rural road networks and the rehabilitation of long-neglected healthcare facilities as key projects that have earned the administration public trust.

Nwuzi also said the governor’s approach has resonated with market women, community leaders and religious groups who have witnessed tangible improvements in their communities. He further claimed that the execution of at least three major projects in each local government area has strengthened public confidence in the administration and reduced criticism of the governor’s performance.
