The Israeli military says all Israeli civilians who entered the Palestinian village of Mukhmas in the West Bank overnight have left the area, ending the incident.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), searches confirmed that all the civilians had been located and that there was no longer any indication of a security-related incident. “All of the civilians were located, and the concern of a security incident was ruled out,” the military said.
Local reports said the group consisted of about 10 Hasidic Jewish men who allegedly entered Mukhmas while attempting to evade police during a pursuit over suspected traffic offences. Police reportedly discontinued the chase after the vehicle entered the Palestinian village.
The vehicle later overturned and crashed inside Mukhmas. Israeli authorities had not immediately released further details on possible injuries or arrests.
