Former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung has alleged that he was offered a chance to return to office after leaving government if he paid ₦100 million.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Dalung said an individual visited his home and claimed to have been involved in his removal from office before offering to facilitate his reappointment in exchange for the payment.
“When I couldn’t return to the office as a minister, somebody walked from the Villa to my house and told me, ‘We were responsible for getting you out of office because you don’t give us money… Raise ₦100 million for us, and we’ll be able to return you to your office,'” Dalung said.
He said he rejected the proposal, thanking the visitor for considering him worthy of returning to office but insisting he neither had the money nor intended to obtain public office through financial inducement.
Dalung said the incident reflected his personal experience after leaving office and called for greater transparency and accountability in public service, urging Nigerians to continue demanding integrity in the appointment process.
