Alhaji Umar Sani, a public affairs analyst, has alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) access to its official nomination portal amid the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.
Speaking in an interview published on SYMFONI’s official YouTube channel on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Sani claimed that INEC issued portal access codes to only nine political parties, excluding both factions of the PDP.
“I noticed that the ADC was given its access code, but INEC has refused to give the access code to either the Wike faction or our own faction, while only nine political parties were given access codes and the PDP was completely excluded,” he said.
According to Sani, the absence of the access code has prevented both PDP factions from uploading primary election results and registering candidates. He attributed INEC’s decision to the party’s leadership disputes and multiple conflicting court orders.
Sani expressed hope that a Federal High Court ruling later this month would resolve the legal uncertainty and enable the commission to grant the PDP access to the portal. He also urged INEC to address the situation promptly to ensure an inclusive and level electoral process.
