The incident transpired when the tanker driver allegedly swerved to avoid a pothole, which resulted in the vehicle catching fire at the station.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed a significant fuel leak at the site, necessitating an immediate response from firefighters.
Firefighters from both the Tema Industrial Area and Motorway Fire Stations were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation and prevent the fire from escalating.
The GNFS has advised motorists and residents in the community, especially those near the Tema Technical Institute bus stop, to remain calm, cooperate with emergency personnel, and follow safety instructions.
