Russian forces launched a wave of overnight drone, missile and guided bomb attacks across several Ukrainian regions, injuring at least 18 people and damaging civilian infrastructure, according to Ukrainian authorities.
According to The Kyiv Post on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the strikes targeted Kramatorsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Dnipro and Poltava. In Zaporizhzhia, five strikes damaged a multi-storey apartment building, causing a section to collapse from the first to the fifth floor and injuring three people, including a child.
In Kramatorsk, a guided FAB-250 bomb struck a supermarket, injuring five civilians, including an 11-year-old boy. The blast sparked a fire covering about 1,300 square metres before firefighters extinguished it. Three women were also injured in a strike on a gas station in Sumy.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 125 attack and decoy drones, one Kh-31 missile and three Kh-59/69 guided missiles overnight. Air defence systems intercepted or suppressed 115 aerial targets, including all three Kh-59/69 missiles.
Additional strikes damaged industrial and energy facilities in Dnipro and Poltava, disrupting electricity supplies as emergency crews continued rescue operations and damage assessments.
