Dr. Seyi Adebayo, a counter-terrorism expert, has described what he said was the intelligence strategy used by security agencies during the rescue of pupils, teachers, and the principal abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Speaking in an interview aired on TVC News and published on its official YouTube channel on Friday, July 10, 2026, Adebayo claimed security operatives extended their operations to Adamawa State, where they arrested relatives and associates allegedly linked to the kidnappers as part of efforts to secure the victims’ release.
According to him, the operation focused on dismantling the kidnappers’ support network through intelligence gathering while prioritising the safety of the hostages.
“What they did was they made a video and sent it back to them, saying, ‘We’ve seen the one you killed. If you kill anyone, we will also kill your family member,'” Adebayo alleged.
He said the successful rescue highlighted the importance of coordinated intelligence and collaboration among security agencies in combating kidnapping and other criminal activities while emphasizing the need for sustained efforts to improve public safety.
