My Son Told Me My Children Slept Very Well and That Gov. Makinde Has Bought New Clothes for Them — Parent

Families of the rescued pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State gathered for a thanksgiving service on Sunday to celebrate the safe return of their loved ones.

Speaking to News Central TV, one of the parents, Mrs. Esther Salami, said she had not yet reunited with her children but had received reassuring updates from her son.

“I have not seen my child yet, but people in town have seen them. My first child in Oyo called me and told me he saw his sisters, and that they are being taken good care of in the hospital. I believe they are safe. My son told me my children slept very well and that Governor Seyi Makinde bought new clothes for them,” she said.

Mrs. Salami, whose children spent nearly two months in captivity, became emotional as she spoke about their ordeal.

The Oyo State Government has announced that the rescued children and their teachers will be reunited with their families on Monday after receiving medical care and support.
