Yoruba nation campaigner Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the successful rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State.
According to a Daily Post report published on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Igboho, in a statement issued by his media office, said the President remained committed to securing the victims’ release and tackling criminal activities across the country.
The victims, comprising pupils and staff of Community Grammar School, Ahoro-Esinle, LA Primary School, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, spent 56 days in captivity before security operatives rescued them on Friday.
Igboho also praised the Chief of Defence Staff, the Inspector-General of Police, the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the military, and other security agencies for their coordinated efforts.
He said the operation demonstrated effective collaboration among security agencies and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, and other parts of the country. He added that the government would continue working with local security outfits to strengthen security and protect farmers and rural communities across the South-West.
