Former Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, has assumed duty as Commander of Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron 31 in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
Photos circulating online on Monday showed Hundeyin, in his new commander’s uniform, leading a delegation on a courtesy visit earlier this month to the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Jude Chukwunwike, marking his first public appearance since leaving his role as Force spokesperson.
According to a Facebook post by Delta State Government media aide Fetuga Robert-Anyawu, Hundeyin now heads PMF Squadron 31. During the visit, he met with the council chairman and other officials to strengthen collaboration on security. Those present included Vice Chairman Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue, Council Secretary Prince Tony Ebube, Supervisory Councillor for Health Austin Unorchie and other local government officials.
PUNCH Online reported that Hundeyin was appointed Force Public Relations Officer in September 2025 by the then Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. He was later promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Before serving as Force spokesperson, Hundeyin was the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command and also served at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Lagos. He was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan, in 2020. Hundeyin holds a degree in English from Lagos State University and a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He was redeployed following a police leadership reshuffle.
