We Got Ourselves Into Trouble, and the Worst Part Is That the United States Is Blaming Us – Ya’alon

Former Israeli war minister Moshe Ya’alon has reportedly said Israel’s military campaign against Iran failed to achieve its main objectives, according to reports cited by Anadolu Agency.

Iranian state-affiliated outlet Pars Today, citing IRIB News, reported that Ya’alon said the operation did not accomplish its stated goals and claimed the United States was blaming Israel for the outcome.

“I think we got ourselves into trouble, and the worst part is that the United States is blaming us. We launched the operation with three objectives: overthrowing Iran’s political system, destroying its nuclear program, and damaging its missile project, but none of these goals were achieved in the war against Iran,” Ya’alon was quoted as saying.

If authentic, the remarks would represent one of the strongest public criticisms by a former senior Israeli official of the campaign. At the time of publication, neither the Israeli government nor U.S. officials had publicly responded, and the statements, published by Iranian state-linked media, had not been independently verified. Ya’alon, a former Israeli defence minister and ex-Israel Defense Forces chief of staff, has been a frequent critic of government policy in recent years.
