HRH Eze Dr. I.I. Okoligwe of Awo-Idemili in Imo State has alleged that members of IPOB carried out deadly attacks in his community, claiming the perpetrators were not natives of the area.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, the traditional ruler said his community places a high value on human life and does not celebrate violence. He contrasted this with the actions he attributed to the attackers, alleging that they took pride in beheading their victims.
“They took pride and delight in beheading people. The bodies they left at that initial period were buried without heads. Even in the civil war it was not as bad as what our people experienced,” Okoligwe said.
He further claimed that many victims of the attacks were buried without their heads and described the violence as more severe than what the community endured during the Nigerian Civil War.
