Arsenal have completed the signing of former Real Madrid captain Misa Rodríguez following the expiration of her contract with the Spanish club.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper joins the Women’s Super League champions as their seventh signing of the summer transfer window. She will strengthen Arsenal’s goalkeeping department alongside Daphne van Domselaar, Anneke Borbe and Isabella Damm.
Rodríguez leaves Real Madrid after making 215 appearances for the club and has earned 24 caps for the Spain women’s national team.
She is Arsenal’s fifth free transfer of the summer, following the arrivals of Georgia Stanway, Ona Batlle, Selina Cerci and Geraldine Reuteler. The club has also signed Isabella Damm and Lisa Baum as it continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The move adds experience and depth to Arsenal’s goalkeeping options as the club prepares for its domestic and European campaigns.
